SB Youth Corps

Sandy Bay Cadet Corps

The Sandy Youth Corps started in February 2011 in partnership with the Isaac Beaulieu Memorial School (IBMS) and was developed and modeled from our successful Sioux Valley Cadet Corps.  It is an after-school program that is open to all youth 12-17 years of age.  This youth development program includes activities that are specifically tailored to the needs and concerns of our youth with an emphasis on sports, culture, education and healthy living.

Youth leaders from the community are hired to assist with activities, mentor the youth and serve as positive role models for our young people.  The program has also given the opportunity for our members to get more connected to the youth and community in a positive way.  In turn it gives youth the opportunity to learn respect for the law.

Our priority is directed to the development of youth, to build pride and self-confidence, teamwork and leadership skills.
