All Detachments are equipped with updated Computer systems, Video and Audio recording systems and Intoximeter Breathalyzers. The Service has a fleet of police vehicles, including 4 x 4 and 4 wheel drive Police vehicles and trucks, In-Car Video Recording Systems, SUV’s, boats, ATVs, snowmobiles and in February 2021 moved to the Provincially mandated equipment and Radio Communications, Global positioning systems (GPS).
Previously, all employees utilized the Command Force Record Management System to capture all reported occurrences. In December of 2013 all DOPS employees began training for use of the RCMP PROS Record Management System.
As of April 12, 2014, all DOPS employees began utilizing the PROS System and entering all their operational files. All members and staff now have access to both the PROS and CPIC systems.
All Manitoba First Nation Police Service Detachments are connected to the Centralized Dispatch Service (E911). In the fall of 2014, all police service detachments moved to equip Livescan Fingerprinting, of which we use today. MFNPS is also equipped with other monitoring systems for Manitoba Public Insurance and court updates.
