Adult female arrested for drug trafficking

In the morning hours of May 30, 2026, the Manitoba First Nations Police in Opaskwayak Cree Nation were called to a disturbance at a local business.


Staff reported that a female was harassing people, arguing with security, and refusing to leave. The female was also reported to be intoxicated. 


Police attended and were advised that the female had been evicted from her room and was refusing to leave. Police located the female outside where she refused to leave and was subsequently arrested. Police learned that she had an outstanding warrant of arrest for numerous charges which included:


• Take motor vehicle without consent

• Fail to comply with undertaking

• Resist/obstruct a peace officer

• Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

• Flight while pursued by police


While being arrested, a search of her person located a quantity of cocaine and other items indicative of drug trafficking.

Ailea CASTEL(28) Of Pukatawagan, Manitoba, has been remanded into custody and is charged with:


• Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine

• Causing a disturbance


She was also charged for several offences under the Liquor Gaming and Cannabis Control Act.
