Male Assaulted Following Break and Enter

Sandy Bay First Nation, Manitoba: Police are investigating a home invasion incident; one male was assaulted with minor injuries in Sandy Bay First Nation, Manitoba.


On January 3, 2024, the Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) responded to a 911 hang-up call on Center Road in Sandy Bay First Nation.


MFNPS officers attended to the scene and located a male with facial injuries who had also been sprayed with bear spray. It was reported that multiple suspects entered the home and assaulted the victim; the suspects had firearms and used bear spray upon entry. The suspects lit a fire before fleeing the scene. The fire was then quickly extinguished. EMS was requested for the occupants. The victim was treated on scene.


Police are actively investigating this matter and are seeking the public's assistance for information regarding this incident.
