Long Plain First Nation - Investigation Update
On December 14, 2023, a media release was issued in regards to a vehicle shot at in Long Plain First Nation. At that time a warrant for arrest was issued for Marcel Blair Peters (Peters), for the following offences:
· Recklessness discharge of firearm
· Point firearm x 2
· Unauthorized possession of firearm in motor vehicle
· Unauthorized possession of firearm
· Possession of firearm knowing possession is unauthorized
· Weapons possession contrary to order
· Robbery with firearm
On December 18, 2023, Peters turned himself into Portage La Prairie RCMP on the outstanding warrant. Peters was detained into custody to appear in court on December 20, 2023.

The MFNPS utilizes this technology in a way that reflects our values and priorities. Training has been provided to officers to ensure responsible and effective use, aligned with best practices and the highest standards of policing.
