Pro-active traffic stop leads to drug trafficking charges

On September 29, 2025, at approximately 5:20 AM Manitoba First Nations Police Service officers in Opaskwayak Cree Nation conducted a traffic stop in The Pas to ensure sobriety and proper licencing. Further investigation revealed that the driver was providing a false identity. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were detained.
With the assistance of MFNP K9 Nyx, a large quantity of suspected cocaine was located and seized. The driver and passenger were arrested for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. The driver continued to provide a false name and other information.
Upon identification, the male was found to have several warrants of arrest from Ontario.
Agrim Bajpai (21) of Niagara Falls, Ontario, has been remanded into custody with the following charges:
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
- Obstruct Police
- Identity Fraud
An adult female (34) from Pukatawagan was released on an Undertaking as per the Criminal Code of Canada to appear in Court at a later date with the following charge:
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
