Suspect in Custody - Twice

May 25, 2026, Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) has made an arrest in connection with the incident that occurred on May 22, 2026, in Sandy Bay First Nation. The incident involved a stolen vehicle that fled from police and was subsequently used to ram a marked police vehicle, resulting in injuries to an officer.


Through coordinated investigative efforts involving the Crime Reduction and Enforcement Unit and members of the Sandy Bay MFNPS Detachment, the suspect was identified and located in Sandy Bay First Nation.


Jordan Kenneth BEAULIEU, 30, was arrested without incident on May 25th and held in custody for his scheduled court appearance on the morning of May 26th.


That morning, BEAULIEU escaped police custody by damaging the prisoner cage of the police vehicle and escaping in hand cuffs. Members of the public quickly pointed out the direction of the escaped male and he was located approximately 300-400 meters from the Sandy Bay Detachment.  He was arrested and taken back into custody.  The damage to the police vehicle rendered it inoperable for police use.


Following the two incidents, BEAULIEU has been charged with:


-         Assault on a Police Officer Causing Bodily Harm

-         Assault on a Police Officer with a Weapon

-         Flight from a Police Officer

-         Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm

-         Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident-Causing Bodily Harm

-         Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

-         Mischief – Damage to Motor Vehicle Over $5,000 (x2)

-         Escape Lawful Custody

-         Mischief to Property over $5000


BEAULIEU was held in custody to appear in court later in the day.
