One arrested after robbery at knifepoint

On March 22, 2026, at approximately 7:00 PM, the Manitoba First Nations Police Service received a report from a male victim indicating that he had just been held at knifepoint and robbed by two suspects, who were still on scene. Officers attended immediately and were directed by witnesses to a nearby business.
One of the suspects immediately fled on foot when advised he was under arrest. After a short foot chase, the male continued to resist arrest. An Energy Weapon (TASER) was deployed and successfully allowed the officers to take the male into custody. The second male had fled the scene prior to police arrival and has not been located. The victim was not injured.
Lionel BOURASSA, 41, of Grand Rapids has been remanded into custody with the following charges:
- Assault
- Uttering threats
- Resist arrest
Additionally, BOURASSA had two warrants for arrest for the following charges:
- Assault
- Break and Enter
- Utter Threats
- Robbery
The second suspect has been identified, and police are in the process of obtaining a warrant for arrest.
