Adult male charged after pointing and discharging firearm

On December 7, 2025, Manitoba First Nations Police Service received a report of a male that had been assault at a residence in the Big Eddy Settlement. Police attended and learned that the victim had been assaulted by multiple suspects. During the assault, a firearm was brandished and pointed at the victim.
As the victim was fleeing, a gun shot was heard. The victim was uninjured.
The eivestigation led to an adult male being identified as the primary suspect. On December 10, police located the suspect at a residence in Opaskwayak Cree Nation and arrested him without incident.
Brayden Turner, 18, from Opaskwayak Cree Nation, has been remanded into custody and is charged with:
- Discharge firearm with intent
- Point firearm
Police are asking members of the public in the 200 block of McGillvary Boulevard to review home surveillance systems that may have been active during the early morning hours of December 7th, 2025, and contact police if any suspicious activity is observed.
