Drug Trafficking Investigation Leads to Arrests, Seizure of Stolen Vehicle, Firearm, Drugs and Proceeds of Crime in Dominion City

The Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) Crime Reduction and Enforcement Unit (CREU), with assistance from the Manitoba RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act that resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of various drugs, a prohibited firearm, a stolen vehicle, and property believed to be proceeds of crime.

On September 13, CREU investigators, assisted by the Manitoba RCMP ERT, executed a search warrant at a residence in Dominion City, Manitoba, which led to the arrest of two individuals.

During the search, investigators located and seized:

• Quantities of suspected methamphetamine and suspected cocaine;
• Drug trafficking paraphernalia;
• An improvised single-shot 12-gauge shotgun;
• 12-gauge shotgun ammunition;
• A stolen vehicle;
• Proceeds of crime, including Canadian currency and a motor vehicle.

As a result of the investigation:

Erik Russell Hiebert, 50, of Niverville, Manitoba, has been charged with:

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine;
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine; and
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.

Hiebert was remanded into custody and remains detained pending further court proceedings.

Miseane Rhiannon Wilson, 31, of Dominion City, Manitoba, has been charged with:

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine;
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine;
• Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Ammunition;
• Unsafe Storage of a Firearm;
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000; and
• Possession of a Firearm Knowing Possession is Unauthorized.

Wilson was remanded into custody.
