Males Charged In Connection With Stabbing Incident

Birdtail Sioux First Nation

On December 31, 2024, Manitoba First Nations Police (MFNP) officers responded to a report of a stabbing victim who attended the Birdtail Health Center.


Police located a 28-year-old male suffering from severe stab wounds, the victim was transported to the Brandon Regional Health Centre, where he underwent surgery. The victim has since been discharged and is recovering. Police conducted a thorough investigation of the scene and recovered a knife, and a wooden club believed to have been used in the attack. The investigation revealed that the victim had been attacked during a dispute involving two family members. Police believe that alcohol played a factor in the incident. MFNP officers have arrested two suspects in connection with the incident:


James Donald Bunn, 43 years old, of Birdtail Sioux First Nation, has been charged with:


·      Aggravated assault


Issak Lathaniel Keyshawn Bunn, 21 years old, of Birdtail Sioux First Nation, has been charged with:


·      Attempted murder
