Man arrested after being wanted for over 4 years
Opaskwayak Cree Nation
On September 20th, 2025, the Manitoba First Nations Police were conducting proactive patrols and located an intoxicated male outside of a business on Opaskwayak Cree Nation. The male provided a name to police which was determined to be false. Further investigation led officers to determine the identity of the male and learned that he had been wanted for over 4 years on a Canada-wide warrant for arrest for parole violations.
Cody CHARTRAND (33) of Opaskwayak Cree Nation was arrested on the strength of his warrant and is facing the following new charges:
- Identity Fraud
- Obstruct Police
He has been remanded into custody to appear in Court at a later date.
