Police Investigate Fraud Allegations

On February 6, 2025, the Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) received a complaint of potential financial irregularities within the administration of Birdtail Sioux First Nation.

 

The Manitoba First Nations Police Service Criminal Investigation Unit is currently investigating the complaint with the assistance from the RCMP Cyber and Financial Crimes Sections. These types of investigations are complex in nature and require a great deal of time and resources to complete. The investigation is in the early stages and no determination of responsibility has been determined at this point.
