911 Call Leads to Card Game

Opaskwayak Cree Nation, Manitoba

 On March 14, 2025, Manitoba First Nations Police (MFNP) received a report of a 911 caller on the line asking for Police to come to a residence in Opaskwayak Cree Nation.

 

Police were advised that the elderly caller requested Police attend for a game of cards, no other information was provided. For public safety reasons members attended the residence to check on the safety of the caller, it was determined that there was no emergency.

 

Police did stay and play a game of cards before continuing their community patrols.

 

MFNPS would like to remind the public that 911 is for emergency calls for assistance. All other calls can be relayed to police dispatch at 204-623-8200 or for non urgent matters during business hours at 204-623-8201
