Suspect At Large After Escaping from Hospital

On July 24, 2025, Manitoba First Nations Police (MFNP) responded to a report of a break and enter involving a firearm on Center Road in Sandy Bay First Nation.


Police responded and found that a male adult was assaulted by two males who then stole a truck from the residence, one of the males was in possession of a firearm. One male was located and arrested while police were dealing with another incident. The male was suffering from self-inflicted wounds and was transported to the Portage Hospital.


Byron Alvin Soloman ROULETTE – 26 years old from Sandy Bay has been charged with the following offences and is currently wanted by Police.


· Assault causing bodily harm

· Uttering threats

· Robbery with a firearm

· Theft of a motor vehicle

· Use of a firearm in the commission of an offence

· Pointing a firearm X2

· Possession of a firearm while prohibited

· Fail to comply with a release order

· Break and Enter

· Escape lawful custody


While the ROULETTE was waiting for treatment at the Portage Hospital, he was able to flee while handcuffed from Police and exited the hospital. Numerous resources including MFNP RPAS operators and K-9 were deployed to the area.


Police are actively trying located the suspects involved in this incident and are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspects.
