ATV Stolen at Gunpoint

Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation

On October 30, 2025, the Manitoba First Nations Police Service in Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation received reports of an injured male and that an ATV that had been stolen at gunpoint on Centre Road in Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation.

 

Police responded to the complaint and found that 2 males had initially assaulted a male. A female passerby had tried to offer assistance to the victim but was confronted by one of the men who threatened her with a firearm. Her ATV was then stolen.

 

On November 3, 2025, with the assistance of the Manitoba RCMP, the second subject, Damrey Desmarias (21) of Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation was arrested and charged with the following offences:

 

-         Aggravated assault

-         Robbery with a firearm

-         Uttering threats

-         Sexual Assault

-         Carry a concealed weapon

-         Possession of a firearm while prohibited

-         Possession of a weapon
