Police Investigate Male Stabbed Numerous Times

On February 1st, 2025, at approximately 11:40 AM, Manitoba First Nations Police (MFNP) were dispatched to the report of a stabbing at a residence on Bracken Dam Road In Opaskwayak Cree Nation.

 

When Officers arrived, they located an adult male with several injuries consistent with being stabbed. Emergency Medical Services arrived and provided medical assistance. Police learned that the altercation occurred at a different location not far from the victim’s location and that the suspect was still present.

 

Police attended the residence and contacted the occupants of the house; the suspect exited the residence and was arrested. 

 

Donald Jay DEMCHYNSKI, 33-year-old of Opaskwayak Cree Nation, has been remanded into custody on the following charges:

 

·       Aggravated Assault

·       Assault with a weapon
